Stand out from "cubicle" organisations and express your corporate culture through your meeting room names. Instead of boring, hard-to-remember numbers designating your rooms ("Was it 218 or 318?"), meeting somewhere like the Bat Cave would be much easier to picture. And if people from the press are coming to you for a "tour", such a name would be a source of some great stories.

Moo.com prints corporate materials and so their meeting rooms are named after printing colours. Their meetings take place in Magenta, CMYK, White and Yellow.

Meeting room names:

  • Batcave

Moz’s names for its meeting rooms come from favourite movies and comics. For example, "Death Star" is the space station and superweapon from Star Wars. Another reference to Star Wars is the "Mos Eisley Cantina", the bar located in a pirate town on the planet Tatooine. "Hall of Justice" comes from the fictional world of DC Universe and is located in Metropolis. The funniest name for us is Moz founder and CEO Rand Fishkin’s own title: "The Wizard of Moz".

There can be no better name for the position of Moz CEO than The Wizard of Moz.

Similarly, Puff, the Magic Dragon was a popular 1960s song and the meeting room name "Puff, the magic drag-n-drop" was derived from it. One conference room is called “Charlie bit me!!!”, the name of a cult 2007 YouTube video. Facebook’s International Department is called the United Nations of Social Media.  Welcome to Facebook, welcome to the United Nations of Social Media.
